Default Zire will not turn off

I have a new Palm Zire, charged it, it worked just fine. Was able to use it, etc. Today, was using it, then when I tried to turn it off, it would not turn off, nor would it recognize anything I tapped on. Like it was locked up. I did the reset in the back. But it still would not recognize when i tried to tap on it. Help!

Does it eventually turn off (i.e., Auto-off after 3 minutes or so)? If not, it sounds like a crash. If the soft reset doesn't free it up, try first a warm reset, then a hard reset (instructions can be found here). You will lose any data that you've entered since the last HotSync if you have to hard reset, though. Good luck!

Thanks for the information Steve. When I turned it on this morning, everything seems to work just fine now. But I will keep the information on the two different reset options. I appreciate your help.
