Problems with PNY SD card?

Just curious if anyone has had problems. Has the SD logo so I thought there would be no problems (1 GB card). The Zire recognizes the card but sees most memory as in use in spite of formatting. Sorry, probably a newbie question but this, beleive it or not, is my first PDA with expansion slot.

i don't know if it suppose to be 900mb but ur not going to get the whole 1gb storage capacity due to the card needs some ROM or storage space to store the instructions on how the card should operate. Someone will come along soon to help u that is of a more expertise position than I on this particular matter.

But anyway just for reference I have an Sandisk SD card that is 64mb but only 59.3 is usuable, As the card uses up some of this ROM or extra storage just as the pda does as in u don't get the full useable storage space as avertised on ur zire 72 and only so many is accessable only to the user.

EDIT: the higher the Megabyte the higher the ROM or operating instructions for the card to operate.

I know what you mean. I have a 126 mb card with 110 mb or so left. The 1 Gb card should have, what, 8 times more memory but reads as less available than the 126 mb card! With nothing on it yet!
