Default Palm Releases Zire 72 Wi-Fi Card

    Greetings, all:

I wanted to pass along to you the following news and website- was wondering if anyone had purchased one of these little jewels yet.

And FYI: my stinkin' Zire also peeled like a sunburned back...thanks to those who recommended nail polish remover.

Hello, I am the person that reviewed the WiFi card for the Zire71 and can tell you that the PalmOne card is a touch better.

There are reviews at PDABuyersguide.com and tomsnetworking.com and they cover just about all that you want to know about the wifi card and its performance. In summary, if you want better performance, get the Tungsten C. This card is good, but will drain your battery in an hour. Hope that helps.

Hey D, thanks for the info, especially about the warning about battery drain. Sounds like I need to carry my power supply with me! I'll be sure to check out the reviews.

Kathy, let me know what you think if you decide to purchase one.

I found this info about the wifi card on one of the news groups. I thought I'd pass it along:

Just a note of information, the new SDIO WiFi Card for the Tungsten T3 and
the ZIRE 72 is now available at the PalmOne store. But , unfortunately, not
until they allow you to completely finish the order and take your credit
card info, Do you get the Thank You email informing you that you just made
an "advanced sale" and the product is not available for shipment. While not
unexpected, I thought the general public would appreciate being "in the
know" (They do say your card will not be charged though)

    Default That's Good to Know

Sounds like they either didn't realize the response they would get, or they're making life difficult for us techies. Maybe it's a little bit of both

    Thanks for the info!

"... the PalmOne card is a touch better. ...
... if you want better performance, get the Tungsten C. This card is good, but will drain your battery in an hour. "

How long does the Tungsten C last while it is using its wi-fi?

Does it make sense to spend the money for the card or would it make more sense to buy the Tungsten C?

    Thanks!
