Default Who wants to test video on Zire72?

Hi everyone! Who wants to see how quality video looks on your zire?
No guides, no instructions, just download the video player for PalmOs - Mmplayer Here
and download an examples i prepared.
<Upon some requests i prepared a couple of example files of how good hi-quality video should look. All files were tested on 2 version of Mmplayer (0.2.6) and (0.2.8) and should run fine WITHOUT overclocking, (of course i DO recommend using Lightspeed for overclocking)
The files should run fine on Zire71 and faster machines (which means all oter os5 machines , except T|E) >

P.s: these files were prepared to be watched on Zire71, so on 72 you can make and watch files that have much better quality.

    -=Check this out=-

video type: Fast motion (here - matrix scene)
    file length: 2min 6sec, file size: 5.5mb
    download Here

    video type: cartoon
file length: 1min 52 sec, file size: 5.5mb
    download Here

    video type: low motion (drama-like)
    file length: 1min 21sec, file size: 2.3mb
    downlod Here

All files were created usig Xvid video codec (last version) and Mp3 audio codec.

P.s Of course you can watch files on your computer too, but they look MUCH better on zire's screen than on computer monitor.

    Default I'm not impressed.

MMPlayer doesn't seem to work any better than the Z72 MEDIA app. Framerate drops galore...even Pocketmovies.net's DRONEZ video is choppy, even using the 176x104 video. Blegh. Give me Kinoma any day.

OH, and by the way...I couldn't view your files...it simply links me to a dhtml file.

Default I may have spoken too soon....

I tried out the Pocket DVD software off of Palmgear.com, and installed a demo of MMPlayer. I have to say, after you convert the files to a better format (ie, after I ripped my dvd to an avi using their software), it really made a difference in MMPlayer's usage.

The downside is that you'd have to convert every single video you place on your pda.

The upside is that, as far as I know, MMPlayer is the only player for Palm that will play mpeg1, mpeg2, and avi files without having to change the format. Pretty slick.

But far too experimental. I'll say this for MMPlayer...bugs aside, I was blown away by the quality of the videos you could watch after ripping the dvd. Amazing quality...much better than Kinoma or Media App.

MMPLayer, for being in "beta" works pretty damn well. I'd never have even tried it but with Junglemike's postings I have been able to put many a Transformers, Beast Wars, Energon, Robotech, Scooby Doo, etc on my T3 for viewing and enjoyment.
Visor to M515 to T3 to T3.5 to TX (now a paperweight) to Treo 650 (another paperweight) to Treo 680 to Blackberry Curve 8900 to Blackberry Bold 9700.

You can't compare Mmplayer to z72 media app or to kinoma. MMplayer - can decode mpeg-4 content meaning taht you don't have to make video in some special proprietary format like kinoma. It allows you play full-length 1.5-2 hour movies in good quality stored in only 128mb card.

I don't know why link aren't working. I tested them on 2 computers and in Internet Explorer and in Firefox. They should work. These are not direct links, since server i'm storing the files on doesn't support direct links. After clicking on on of links you should see this window, just click on "foolow the link....."
If still doesn't work - i can send the files to anyone by mal.

I definately misjudged MMPLayer...it works really well. I'm actually thinking of registering it.

Not sure what I am doing wrong but everytime I try to download the examples all I get is audio and no video. I am a Mac OS 10.3 user. Also, I have read your tips on making a DVD playable on a palm and am wondering if it can be done on a Mac, as it seems that all of the programs you are using are for Windows.
