Default want to stop syncing mp3 files when hotsyncing

    zire72 syncing via usb
    ibook g4 os 10.3.4
    isync 1.4

    i have a zire72 and a 256mb sd card.
i have deleted the mp3 files on the 256mb sd card and don't want them there anymore.
but, when i sync, my ibook keeps wanting to sync the mp3 files into the sd card. all the necessary conduits have been configured to work. it's just this little thing i can't figure out. can anyone help me stop the syncing of mp3 files into my sd card?

any help would be great! thanks!

I don't know if this will help, but in Windows on my PC, there is a folder in Palm under username called backup, and if I don't delete the unwanted files from that location also, they will return to my handheld at the next hotsync. Do you have a similar setup on Mac?

Thanks Lauren! I found my Backups folder (Home --> Documents --> Palm --> Users --> Me --> Backups). There is a lot of PDB and PRC files, but none that suggest that it is for MP3 files or media files. Do you happen to know which file it is? I don't want to delete something that I shouldn't (done that too many times with Wintel PCs and had to reinstall the entire Windows OS!)

    Thanks!

My ogg/mp3 player of choice is PocketTunes. I have a copy of the app & all of my music stored on a 256MB SD card, but I also have a copy of the app & 4 music files stored in RAM (for downloading & transferring skins.) In my backup folder, the files are listed as "PocketTunesPL-Untitled001", 002, 003, etc. The file labeled without numbers after Untitled is the player; the others are the few songs in RAM. My songs on the SD card are not in the backup folder because I loaded them directly to the card with a reader. I also keep the music card separate from my daily-use 256MB SD card. Perhaps your Player backs up the files within the app and then tries to "correct" your deletions. After searching thru the backup folder for a cure, I'd then go to the Player for settings, etc. to see if there's any help there.

Post your results, because any mystery solved may help someone else here. Happy hunting...

    Regards,
    Lauren

    Default hahahaha...

I feel so dumb. After going back to the Palm --> User (your name) directory, I clicked on Backups just to see if I missed something yesterday. Well, I didn't miss anything there. However, I did miss something that was QUITE obvious.

    Mac OS X:
Home --> Documents --> Palm --> Users --> Me (Your Name) --> FILES TO INSTALL --> SecureDigital(SD) Card

This is where all the MP3 files were being kept that HotSync wanted to download to my Zire72.

Thanks a bunch for your help and I hope this helps someone out there.
