I'm not 100%sure what you want to accomplish, but it sounds like you hven't "paired" your devices. This is done so that one "trusts" the other. If you go to the Palm Support site and enter article number 14545 into the #2 search box you will get an article that should help you with file transfers. (Or, from that same page, you can just put in "Bluetooth" and see all the other articles about it.
Why, I've got muscles in my head I haven't even used yet!

With Bluetooth, you don't need to point your Palm at anything (although you can if it makes you feel better!). You just need to be in the vicinity (c. 30ft) of the device to which you wish to connect. Thick walls and the like can impede connection and effectively reduce the distance between the devices.

    1. What are you trying to accomplish via BlueTooth? Internet access? File transfer? What?

    2. Routers are for Wifi transmission, not BlueTooth. Both are radio frequencies, but BT is a low-power version usable to about 10 meters. Wifi has much longer range.

If you want to gain internet access, you'll need to buy a "BT dongle" for your PC. The other option is the Palm Wifi Card/ Wifi Router combination.

Both of these options work best with a broadband internet connection.

If your Palm is not being recognized when your PC tries to locate Bluetooth devices, my first guess would be that your Palm is not discoverable. You should be able to set this in your Palm's Bluetooth settings somewhere.

I couldn't determine from celtic's post if he had a BT device in his PC!

Celtic, do you have a BlueTooth device in your PC? If so, then disregard my suggestion for a dongle...

No, you need to buy a bluetooth adapter inorder to connect your device to the computer.

    Like, these.
