Multiple!!! listings of same contact after a Hot Sync and alternate to Palm Desktop

Hello,
after a hot sync, a random selection of names are copied and copied over and over, sometimes a dozen times, the same information. The first time it was all the names in my email category, four copies of each.
I clean up in Palm desktop, re-sync and then they appear again, even when I make sure to set the conduits (ie desk over handheld).
Any suggestions? Just live with this mystery?
ALSO any thoughts/suggestions/experience with synching with Apple Address Book instead of Palm desktop, which I am considering.

Welcome to Brighthand, and I'm sorry for your trouble!

If you don't want to continue to load that junk, find your Backup folder on your PC, usually C:\Programs\Palm\Username\Backup or something similar. Rename your Backup folder to Old Backup or whatever you like. Then try a hotsync; a new Backup folder will be created. If you really want to clean up & start from scratch, then you should also Hard Reset your handheld device, and then hotsync. Only the factory-installed (ROM) applications will be there after the hotsync. You have an opportunity to reinstall, one at a time (very important!), your non-factory apps. Test each app after installation, then hotsync. It sounds like you may have some kind of conflicting program causing your Palm to go nuts. Are all of your apps OS5-compatible? This is the first time I've ever heard of your particular glitch, duplicating addresses, etc.

You can find the descriptions/instructions for various reset procedures here , in case you'd like to bookmark these for future reference (a good idea ) .) Sometimes all you can do is start over.

Regarding Apple Address Book, someone else can help you as I am Apple-dumb.
