Default Can 9V charger for Palm V be used with Zire 71?

I could swear a 9V battery charger was available on the Palm store website about a month or so ago for $14.95 under the Zire 71 cables, charges, etc. listing. It is not there anymore.

Ok, I should have order it then. All I can find now by search the web in general is a 9V charger for the Palm V. Since the Palm V used the universal connector, could I use this with my Zire 71?

This is my only real complaint about the Zire 71 - I want a way to charge it when I don't have access to an electrical outlet. (camping, hiking, other travel).

The series V does not use Universal type connetor, and the battery on the series V is not the LiIon type used on your Zire71.

Since battery type is same as the m5xx series any charger adapters should also be compaltable with the newer universal connectors.

On ebay there is a seller, Peak Cloudy that has several options for universal connector power / charge options. His prices are in line or better for the products and have seen threads posted on this site regarding satisfaction of purchase and solution.

Palm is to have a power sled posted as power option, priced at $ 99. a little steep, unsure if for all Palm units or only a select model?

Thanks! PeakCloudy does have a charger which used 4 AA batteries - I'd prefer a 9V - or 2 AA batteries (4 seems like it will be heavy), but this is what I am looking for!

The LiIon battery charges to 4.2 v DC. and the charging circuit is part of the battery design, not external as some other electronic rechargables.

    2 AA would only provide 3 volts. (2 x 1.5 v)
    4 AA would provide 6 volts. (4 x 1.5 v)

So the charge source must be higher than the charge level you are attepmpting to obtain.
