PalmReader Pro?
Does PalmReader Pro have any advantages over the "free" PalmReader when used on a highres PDA? Are the enhanced fonts necessary or are they obsolete on highres PDAs?

The enhanced fonts work beautifully on the Z71, and allows you to see much more text than the standard font without sacrificing legibility.
The "vest pocket dictionary" is worthless. So is the font smoothing given the hi-res display.

What fonts come with the pro version? Or are the enhanced fonts sold separately?

The Palm Reader Pro does not come with free fonts. There is an option to buy a "Font Pack" add-on when you purchase the PRP. To be honest, none of the fonts offered are that great.
Like daverman said, font smoothing is pretty much useless for the Zire71. Get the Pro version only if you want to use an extensive dictionary like the the Merriam Webster Collegiate Dictionary.Treo Today - Ongoing coverage of the Treo smartphone world

What you mentionned about it having a dictionnary leads me to a question. I'd be interested in having a dictionary on my handheld. Would I be better served by a standalone dictionary program or is the interface for it in Palm Reader Pro good?
I'd like to be able to see it in Palm Reader Pro but doesn't seem like that have a demo for that.
I was considering Palm Reader Pro or something like Dictionary To Go, ect. Any reason for the palm reader pro one?
Thanks.

IMHO standalone dictionary apps are better because they work across all applications. However I have not found one for Palm OS 5 that works well.
You can download a demo of Dictionary To Go, I think. There's never been a demo for Palm Reader Pro.Treo Today - Ongoing coverage of the Treo smartphone world
