how ca I tranfer files (mp3) from the handheld to the computer
I can use the "quick install" to put files on the handheld,
but how do I do the oppsite?

Palm Desktop wont do that. But I have a two suggestions. The first suggestion is to get a card reader, it is cheap. Or you can download third party applications, Card Export or Total Commander's Plugin. Do a search on this topic, it has been talked many times.
