Default Another Very Odd Moment In the Palm Legacy...

Have no idea what perspective to give this, but the OS that will not die--- shambles on...

Mostly just makes me curious to know what they are up to. Might be the point. ;-)

Memories, or ghosts, of Glory-Days-Past... *SIGH*

Somedays it's not even worth chewing through the restraints...

I should only have to LET the technology work for me. If I have to MAKE the technology work for me, it's not a tool - It's a boat anchor. And I've got better things to do than manage boat anchors, especially if I don't have a boat.

Those articles, which usually include a history of Palm, always just make me sad. The midway point, around January 2003, is when I climbed on board and it was a glorious ride. Reading the rehash of all the stupid business decisions and the company leadership roster is nauseating.

Amen to that - for me my first Palm was a gift (Palm III) in May of 1998 from a good friend who bought his out from his company as they were upgrading him to a Palm V as I lived in Sunnyvale just a mile or so from Palm's headquarters.

Sad. Very sad. I spoke with a friend of mine today about the "Gram" announcement and he was none too happy when I mentioned that future versions of webOS wouldn't run on existing webOS devices. That, taken with all the meandering we've seen in the Palm world over the years is disheartening.

Palm/WebOS is the "Two And A Half Men" of mobile operating systems.

As a huge original Palm fan (who still has a routinely charged Tungsten|C) I gave up long before even WebOS. Everything that Palm once was is now Android at least x10. Six months from now no one will still know anything about GRAM.

Edit: Oops. Didn't realize how old this thread was. It actually has almost been six months!

No oops. The post prior to yours was on December 7. This thread will be nostalgic for most of us for some time. Post thoughts as you wish.
