Authentication error in iMessenger
I just got a Palm VIIx and it has iMessenger plus Moviefone, ABC news, etc. I can use all the online apps (like get movie times or news headlines) except iMessenger and Ask Jeeves.
Every time I do a "Check & Send" from iMessenger, it says:
Transaction Results
An error occurred
Authentication error
Wait a few minutes and try again
Details
Server error (authentication error)
I don't know where to go from here. The iMessenger website hasn't helped, and I can't find this problem addressed in this forum for the VIIx.
Can anyone help me please?

Sounds like something on Palm's side, I'd drop them an email within the wireless administration part of their website and see what they can figure out. Or maybe call in to 'request a service plan change', and then say why you think that your plan is busted because of the authentication error.
A sneaky way to get patched into tech support, without having to fork over cash for them to fix your problem.
Current Device: Samsung Galaxy Note II - Rooted Stock ROM
Retired Device: HTC EVO Shift 4G - (Rooted) JellyBelly ROM 4.1.2
Tablet: Kindle Fire
The school year is back in session - I'm likely to be absent from here quite a bit...

Thanks. I found out this used Palm was activated by the previous owner and never deactivated. So when I got it, being ignorant, I flipped up the antenna and started exploring Moviefone, Mapquest, etc. Most applications worked great EXCEPT iMessenger. Since I had no documentation to tell me I had to sign up and pay money for a Palm.net connection, I continued in my ignorance to try to use iMessenger with no success.
Finally I called Palm and got free tech support to tell me I'd have to deactivate and pay up to get iMessenger, but if I wanted to continue to use the other apps, go ahead - nobody was paying for it. I would be just taking a chance that a deactivation signal would arrive in the middle of something important. So since I'm very cheap and don't really care about iMessenger, I'll just keep doing what I'm doing.
