    Default Palm OS hangs

I got my Palm VIIx about a month back. It keeps hanging so many times. This time I was writing a note and it got switched of automatically due to week battery. I replace new batteries and when I switch it on it shows the same note and nothing works. Even the power off switch also doesn't work and I have to switch it off by taking batteries out. Can you tell me what's wrong with it ??

Could be almost anything. Certainly the initiating event this time was low batteries, so in the future I wouldn't try to get the very last out of each set! With the wireless hardware draining extra power, you can go down a good bit faster than you might expect.

When faced with a locked-up Palm (of any variety), you should try a soft reset, a warm reset (up button and reset) and, if all else fails, a hard reset (power button and reset -- hold the power button until the logo comes up). Taking out the batteries effectively performs a hard reset, and all add-on apps and data will be lost.
