Re: Phone PIM
Ah, OK, Inner Prop, the subject here shall be to activate WiFi and keep the other data channel off; the latter, in general guidelines, is the OTA connection (Over The Air); according to the model, I only guess it can be UMTS (which I doubt it is), or EVDO (most probably, because of the carrier and the generation of the device). That one has to be kept shut off so the device doesn't yell: "yohooo, hellooooo, I'm using data here, ..." The purpose here is that you get WiFi working, you can get online at spots without the costs of OTA connection.
Yet... I reckon you will have to go through the brochures, cause I ain't got the rippest idea of how to keep OTA off and WiFi on in your device

'Zactly Hal. EVDO is the thing that needs to be kept off.

Re: Phone PIM
Nope. It was just a little over a year ago that I hurt it. I played rugby in college, then post college when I moved back to NJ, then an errant blow during a blocking drill at practice and BOOM. Knee goes a-busted.
IIRC, Verizon's version has no wifi, hidden or otherwise.

LG Nexus 4: AT&T (Gophone), Android 4.4.2, stock and unrooted-- and probably staying that way.

Yep! From the CNET review:
Now, although the HTC Vox included Wi-Fi, the SMT5800 does not. But don't worry: It is EV-DO capable.

Re: Phone PIM
That's only a little disappointing. I liked my T5 w/o WiFi. If I can surf with my PC and download a site or two for later reading I would be okay with that (not overjoyed, but okay). I don't really go to WiFi hot spots.
I'll have to make sure my next computer and printer are Bluetooth though. Oh, and my WiFi keyboard will have to sit in the wings with my TX and wait until the world is desperate, to come out of retirement and save the day!
Still, I wonder if "does not include" really means no hardware, or just no software.
Does Verizon let any of their phones have WiFi? Doubt it."The best way out is always through." - Robert Frost

Ah, that's the story with your knee. It hurts, right? In years of sports I never got the knees hurt until Senior High School, and that was because of bad warmup before running long distance jog. No ill-wish block involved.
That's a good question. In similar guidelines, in the iPod Touch / iPhone platform, there is a Bluetooth radio onboard, but it's so crippled that it's as good as absent."Do or do not.
