    Default new to palmV

A friend just gave me his PalmV and I upgraded the version to 4.1 (Mac OSX) and while practicing with it I come across a curious 'Fatal Alert' as it's trying to syn 'Photos'.

This has happened everytime I try hot syncing and am unsure how/what to do.

The 'Fatal Alert' on the Palm reads ....SystemMgr.c,Line:185, unimplemented ..........

then below is a reset button. The desktop hotsync progress window seems to stick on the 'Photos' syncing.

Bottomline for me is I don't necessarily need/want any photos synced but cannot seem to get the photo syncing turned off.

    anyone any help ? Please.

    TY - Buz

    Default update to my original

if I go through the conduit settings each time prior to hot synching - then the photo syncing is just a flash and all goes well.

seems I have to set the conduit settings>photos to never in order for it to work.

please help - I want to see if theis little unit can make a diff in my daily life.

Hello buz, and welcome to Brighthand.

The Palm V and Vx are not capable of running the Photos app because it was written for Palm OS 5, which is does not work with the Palm V series handhelds.

The download version of Palm Desktop is a generic version which is compatible with a very long list of devices.

To keep your handheld from crashing during the HotSync process, you will need to disable the Photos conduit.

I discovered how to 'disable' the photo sync - guess I'll see how that works now. First time around went well.

    Thank you
