    Default lost installation cd

I just moved and got a new computer, but I cannot find my installation CD. I have a Palm Vx running OS 3.5.0. Is there somewhere on the site where I can download OS 3.5, or do I have to hunt thru 50 boxes to find my CD?

    Thanks for your help

Hi Griffelh, you can go to www.palm.com and under "downloads" you can find the 3.5.0 download and also the upgrade.

I only see updates and upgrades, I don't see the base 3.5 OS software

I think you can buy a replacement CD from Palm.

You don't need to download OS3.5.0 -- moreover, you can't. It's contained inside your Palm.

If you're talking about the Palm Desktop software, you can download the latest version from Palm's support website. The version of the OS on your handheld and the version of Palm Desktop you use are totally separate.

I had the same problem this week - lost the installation disc - and I downloaded the latest version of the Palm Desktop from the Palm site, but it doesn't work properly.

After opening the program, it takes about 40 seconds for the opening screen to yield the program itself. What's more, the Expense feature doesn't work at all, causing the program to crash when I attempt to use it.

I have synched with the handheld and all the data, except the expense data, works fine on both the handheld and the desktop.

Any suggestions about how I should proceed? Uninstall ane reinstall the desktop software? Or perhaps download it again before re-installing, on the guess that there was some glitch in the download process?

Try moving all the <username> folders out of c:\Palm. Does it open any faster now?

Thanks, Jenifer. Impatient to resolve the problem, I uninstalled the program, downloaded another copy, installed that one, and it works like a charm. Sorry to put you through the trouble of posting a reply.
