    Default Data Backup

I would like to backup my data to and external drive (flash), just in case the worst ever happens.

What's the best way to do this?

    Thanks for the help.

Hotsync to palm Desktop, copy the complete folder under PalmDesktop folder tree which resembles your hotsyncID to Flash drive.
That's about the best you can do I think ...

Alternatively you could also export all 4 PIMs from within PalmDesktop to more readable formats (csv, bak, ... whatever). Makes an eventual transition easier yet adds to the workload when doing the backup.

I wish I was smart enough to know what you're talking about. Can you dumb it down for me?

    Thanks!

    Part 1:
on my desktop PalmDesktop is installed under C:\Program Files\PalmOne.
Under that is a folder called HolvoeN, thats sort of my hotsyncID. THAT folder I would copy aside to have all my data.

    Part 2:
    Open PalmDesktop, select e.g. Datebook.
Then File, Export, choose a name and save.
Repeat for Todos, Memo and Address.

These files can be imported should you start again from a scratch installation. This can also serve to ADD your data to an existing installation.

I hope this is more clear ? If not, give me a shout
