    Question Phone Number Hassle

    Hi All,
I just got my Palm W for around a week and well. It has been serving me quite well.

There is one hassle that I am facing though, after I imported my sim card contact numbers and the csv file from my nokia, I realised that you cannot SMS if the address book does not have the numbers stored as MOBILE.

And if I were to change it, there is no universal command that allows me to do that. I would have to change EVERY single one of them manually! And I have close to 400 contacts!

    Solutions anyone?

Munk, I haven't done this, but it should work. If all mobile numbers are in the same field, just named something else, try hot syncing, then export to say, Excel, rename the column header and import back to Palm desk top then hot sync again.

Thanks for the idea and I have tried it.

But one thing I still have not managed to change is having the numbers displayed as mobile instead of main. The field headers are known as Phone1 Phone2 Phone3 etc. And not Main, Work, Email etc. So basically I can slap the numbers in a new location but not change the field default.

And I still have to change every single one manually. New entries can be defaulted as Mobile instead of Main. But once I import the phone book even if export and import it, I still cannot change it and have it as the default Mobile.

I hope palm will have a universal change by allowing to mass select users and change the contact option all as one.

It is very time consuming to be altering everyone's default to mobile.
