    Question Graffiti on Tungsten W

I've installed JOT and switched to the graffiti setting within JOT. However, I have trouble switching to the punctuation setting. Two taps won't do it? Has anyone mastered this?

This is mainly why I won't install the Jot software on my Palm as I am comfortable with using regular Graffiti now. I'm not sureof the awnser to your question but installing Jot may have something to do with it. There should be instructions included somewhere that will show you the differences and how to do normal Graffiti I'm guessing.

Thanks for the response, but without adding JOT there's no graffiti on the Tungsten W. Am I incorrect here?

    Hi RodT,

You are correct on the T|W without Jot there's no Graffiti because there's no input area.

I too have wrestled with the punctuation dilemna and the only solution I came up with is to use the keyboard. I know that's a cop-out but I can't figure out anyway to do it. Single tap doesn't work, tap and hold doesn't work. Tapping the blue button then using the stylus doesn't work either.

I will say this though, with Jot my Graffiti writing appears much better and I have a much better success rate than I did on my old Palm. I like the shadow line that appears. It helps me to write much better.

Sometimes the "dot" at the bottom of the screen appears, but I can't get it there consistently.

I don't have the software to try this myself, but have you tried a diagonal stroke from the lower right to the upper left on the screen?

So- just to extend that - a period is two of those strokes. It's more awkward than a tap, but not too hard to get used to.

I have to say, too, that I'm using JOT now without using grafitti. I am a long time grafitti user and I swore I would never use anything else, but you know, after a few days of using it the unthinkable happened - I found I could write faster and better just using jot.

I think punctuation in jot is better than grafitti on my T/W - screen is too sensitive to be doing double tapping of anything (turned it off in other apps too). The period and comma are easy fast pen strokes, and as was said, the 'show ink' option helps when you're writing right on top of text already on the screen. I use jot and testplus and can bang out lots of emails pretty quickly.

You might try using jot without grafitti for a few days to get used to it. I hated it day 1, was ok day 2, and liked it day 3.

My biggest problem is accidentally resting my hand on the right hand side of the keyboard and getting uninvited carriage returns all the way down the page. It seems like the keys on the right side of my thumbboard are sticky and have almost 0 travel before they activate so the slightest pressure causes unwanted characters. Any other keyboard-haters have this problem?
