Excel/Contacts/Importing in Contacts

I have a Palm T5, very happy with it. I have recently changed jobs and would like to enter 2500 contacts from the database "I obtained" when I left and enter onto my Palm. The problem I am having is that the data is in a excel spread sheet. The only way (I think) thay Palm will accept data import into contacts is either in:-

i) Comma seperated
ii) Tab seperated

How can I change the excel spread sheet into either of these formats, or import any other way into contacts onto the palm?

(At the moment I have the spread sheet in documents on the Palm, but takes for ever to open. I would like each contact as a seperate entry in contacts?)

Interesting problem.

Are you able to sync with Outlook if that would help (not sure if it would)?

How is the data stored in the Excel spreadsheet? For example, is column A the name, column B the address, column C the phone number?
