Aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Second T3 hard reset in three months. Getting it all - vertical lines on screen, fading picture, inability to soft reset (can warm reset). Can't do a 100% restore from Backupbuddy VFS. On doing partial restore and then [soft] resetting the bl00dy thing freezes. I'm currently staring down th barrel of:
Emul68KMain.c, Line:403, illegal instruction 7569 at address 01684274.
Previously it was:
Emul68KMain.c, Line:403, illegal instruction 7D00 at address 01668BA8.
This is really getting to me. I think I shall check out the compatibility of my key software and see if a T5 is the answer if they are more stable.
Pity - I love the T3.Brain -> Casio -> Sharp -> Filofax -> Palm Pilot -> Palm Professional -> Palm IIIc -> iPAQ 4660 (oops) -> TT3 + T610 + NavMan -> TT5 + SE K700i + NavMan -> TT5 + 2Gb SD card + SE K810i + universal PDA thumb board + external mike + TomTom ONE + BlackBerry 8800

<Nine pops in thinking that this thread must be about problems with A, R G and H in Graffiti 2, sees that it isn't and leaves again> Whoops. Sorry.

Streaky;
Do another hard reset and install your programs back one at a time to id what program it is that is causing the issue. I would also recommed not even installing from the backup folder as you might have a corrupted prefs file that could be causing your issues.Read and view something different

...and please accept my apologies, Streaky - I wouldn't want someone being smart in my thread if I was having a problem and I wasn't thinking at the time of posting

To keep Nine from getting confused any further, I've altered the subject line for this thread.

Thank you all (and I've had it with hard resets and laborious app-by-app installs_.
On Friday night I stormed out of work and in to PC World. I then skulked out with a T5 in my bag. I haven't yet got it up and running with all the apps I use (well, those that are billed as T5-friendly). I kind of miss the old T3, though (in particular, the spring-loaded stylus).
I'll report back somewhere on here. In the meantime, anyone want a used T3???Brain -> Casio -> Sharp -> Filofax -> Palm Pilot -> Palm Professional -> Palm IIIc -> iPAQ 4660 (oops) -> TT3 + T610 + NavMan -> TT5 + SE K700i + NavMan -> TT5 + 2Gb SD card + SE K810i + universal PDA thumb board + external mike + TomTom ONE + BlackBerry 8800

BTW you have your T5 for a weekend and still not completely set up ?
I am wondering now if I would call you though for being able to keep your hands of of it, or if I should ask what bugs you ran into which prevented you from setting it up completely... I'll stick with the first thought for the good spirit of this board
Digital since 1980, handheld since 2001
M105 (retired but still working), T|E (sold)
T3 + ADAPT BT GPS + Viamichelin 3.2 + Palm WiFi card
Treo 500v with WM6.1 and Treo 680 in the drawer

Having a rather busy schedule at work, so I am not around that much lately.

I know - it's driving me mad - I am itching to get it set up. However, all of the install files and licences for my apps are on my PC at work. I was going to do it all today but I FORGOT MY BL00DY PALM CD and am reluctant to connect up and hotsync the T5 using the Palm software I installed when I got my T3.
Also, I am sooooo busy during the day that I haven't had a chance even to look at it (although, of course, I invest a few minutes in Brighthand ...). Tomorrow. I'll remember the CD and do it tomorrow.Brain -> Casio -> Sharp -> Filofax -> Palm Pilot -> Palm Professional -> Palm IIIc -> iPAQ 4660 (oops) -> TT3 + T610 + NavMan -> TT5 + SE K700i + NavMan -> TT5 + 2Gb SD card + SE K810i + universal PDA thumb board + external mike + TomTom ONE + BlackBerry 8800
