HELP svp - Resolving Bad alignment - T3
There is an area in the left top quarter of my T3 that is suddenly off by almost 1/8". The area is about the size of a nickle.
I have tried DigiE and the like to recalibrate the screen. Although the rest of the screen is very accurate this nickle size area is driving me nuts hitting the check boxes in my todo list; to check a specific row item I need to check the box one level below.
Any way to resolve? What would cause this? Possible to fix without sending to Palm?
I love my T3 but surely this is not right.

Just did. Same thing.
Could this be caused by use or remval of a Martin Field's screen protector?
I plan to try this tomorrow.

Yes, a screen protector can interfere with digitizer registration. Thanks. I updated the referenced post with that possibility.

Hmmmm.... just removed to try. No effect.
I did try something on put guess that seems to have helped. Instead of using DigiE I went back to using the Prefs three button digitizer. In doing this I hit the four corner exactly, but the center I hit below target by about 1/16". Check the alignment with "Ak Stylus Test" shows it is much more accurate.
Is this worth a return to Palm give the slow response of Palm. I also have the Sony screen which I do not wish to loose.
As well the T3 is still within 1 year warranty.

Slow response and, in at least some published cases, digitizer issues MIGHT be due to digital debris, glitchy programs, and so on in the Palm.
You might try a complete cleaning. It takes a bit of time but often offers incredible results.
For newcomers- the process goes like this:
1. Do a good backup (card or wherever) and sync.
2. Rename or move your backup on the computer (usually something like c:/program files/palmone/[your name]/backup (and/or archive, etc.)). If you don't rename it, a lot of bad files will just get reinstalled- but your core data (addresses, etc. WILL still be refreshed.
3. Hard reset- press and hold reset and power buttons. Release reset, pause, release power. You'll be asked about erasing all data. Answer yes.
4. Reinstall everything using new, clean downloads as much as possible, and ideally installing a clean-up rgram of some sort.
You usually get a burst of speed and room out of the process, and the newest versions of everything as well!
