    Default Docs to Go 6.002

    Hi all,
I have been using this App on my T|T3 since last November and although I only use it a few times a month, I just noticed that my most recent downloads from PC to Palm have problems that do not occur on my earlier Docs.

When I try to open any new Doc, all I get is a blank screen and to get any further I have to soft reset my Palm .

    It just appears to freeze.

OK I know it's getting bloody cold here in the Uk but per..lease, this is not an excuse.

Everything else has been functioning brilliantly for months now so this is quite surprising. It is impossible to be more precise as to what actually triggers this freeze, but I am intrigued and would like to know if this has happened to anyone else out there.
    Cheers

I am not a PC...and Windows 7 was my terrierists idea. I am once again a PC because my software will not run in Ubuntu or Emulators...boohoo and I only have one terrierist now...

    Default Upgrade, possibly still free

Did you register Docs2Go 6.002 with DataViz? You might do so NOW if you didn't. There is a 6.008 free upgrade which fixed several problems including freezes and a crash when the "find" function was selected.

DataViz are now up to Docs2Go V7, which ships with the T5 I believe. Worst case (I'd hound them for the upgrade and stick with that -- it's free) -- you could upgrade to Docs2Go7 and get even more benefits as well as fix the problem.

Your T3 should have Docs2Go in ROM, and the upgrade will go in RAM - that's a sticking point with me - Docs2Go should have been installable by the USER from the CD and not put in ROM. If you don't want to deal with both copies, you'll have to purchase JackSprat and JackFlash to DELETE the old ROM version (along with a lot of other unwanted crap and 4MB of extra languages if you wish!), initialize flash, and move the NEWER one into ROM. Same with Kinoma and RealPlayer.

If you don't want to mess with flash, the newer version resides in RAM, costing you memory, but functions well - the T3 "knows" which is the newer version and picks it automatically.

Happily remaining in the T3 Dark Ages . . . although that TX looks pretty darn good!
