    Default System Lockout error?

I have a TE and a T3 right now. I keep getting both units having a system lockout error. Here is what happens. I start the unit up and the first screen I see is a red X saying

A password is required to lock your handheld.

This feature turns off your handheld and prevents others from using it without the password.

then it has an OK symbol to hit. I hit it and it jumps me into the security screen under prefers. I have the settings for Password: unassigned and autolock is after 1 hour.

For some reason too the unit will turn itself on night or day and lock on this screen. It won't get pass it and will run the battery dead. I have had 5 dead batteries at work before I even turn it on the unit minute I get there.

It happens the most on the TE and I have only seen it on the T3 twice. Its driving me nutts!!! I have been looking into cleansweep type of programs to get rid of all my left overs and suggestions? I wondering if left over files are causing the errors?

I think that you need to set the autolock to "never". Go to preferences and tap on security (it is under the "General" section). Click on the box saying "after one hour" and select "never" from the list. An alternate solution would be to set the password!

With the device set to autolock after 1 hr, it attempts to lock itself but since you have not set a password it cannot, hence the screen appears telling you to assign a password. It is coming on overnight because an hour after you last use it, it tries to lock itself but there is no password and so this message is displayed.

The box saying "after 1 hour" says Auto Lock next to it. Change it to never.

I have experienced the battery drain myself. I have a password defined and set autolock at 11:03pm (As I used to to with my former TT) and I had 3 battery drains (but just needed to recharge the data survived) and a full hard reset.

This happened with the keylock feature enabled (once) so I disabled it, but problem came up again, so at this time I set autolock to never and since then, no more battery drain so far. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I'm running Laucher X 1.02 but don't think it has something to do about it.

i haven't had a problem yet. I cannot believe it was that simple and right in front of my face. What would I do with out these boards and friends like you

Now if I can get Palm to come out with a cradle for my TE I will be all set.
