APPENDING Data to Tungsten T While HOTSYNCING...
Hi Everyone,
I created a new thread since my old thread can be confusing:
Ok so here's my scenario. I have my T|T that I want to sync normally with my home laptop. All contacts/tasks/calendar will be set to SYNCRONIZE.
When I bring the TT to work, I want it to only PULL from my work laptop and NOT SYNC the data that is already on my TT (my personal data). Meaning, I DO NOT want my personal data on my work laptop because it will eventually get backed up to the servers.
How do I set it so the TT will APPEND to the data that is already on itself? because, if I change the setting on my work laptop to say "Outlook overwrites handheld" it will delete ALL of my personal data and just dump the work data on the TT.
I would like it so the personal data STAYS on the TT and the work data gets pulled onto the TT.
Here's what I'm using:
PDA: Tungsten T
OS: Windows XP Pro on both Work and Home Laptops
Conduit: Pocket Mirror
PIM: Outlook 2002
Thanks!

I come from old school Palm, so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but this cannot be done. At least not with the current setup.
If this is truely what you want, then consider alternate apps that sync with alternate conduits.
Say get a copy of KeyContacts and have that sync with work while the normal addressbook syncs with home.
If Chapura makes a new conduit, it may have some of this feature too, letting you pick categories to sync at work, and categoris to sync at home. You'll need to explore it more.
As for the other apps, I don't know any alternate syncing apps for the other PIMS.

tdp4, thanks for the reply. Please let me know if you find a solution. It would be extremely disapointing if this cannot be done.

why not just set-up the Palm Desktop and sync your personal info as private files and set private files on your wwork PC to hidden.
What exactly are you trying to get from youre work PC? Agenda items?KaribOS v.6.17

Reason being is that I do NOT want to have ANY of my personal data on my work laptop. Even if they are hidden, I don't want any data on there at all.Originally posted by karibOS

What I am trying to do is pull all of the data (contacts, calendar, notes, memos) from my work laptop to the Tungsten T. I do NOT want it to sync, because if it were to sync, my personal data would go onto the work laptop.
Thanks!
