    Default VersaMail question

Is VersaMail suppose to sync on the TT? Using Microsoft Outlook Express? I just installed this software from the disc of software that came w/my TT, but I can't get it to work and wasn't sure if it is working smoothly on the TT.

First you need to set up an account on the Palm; make it a PPP account. Then HotSync to transfer the account to the desktop. Click on the HotSync icon in the taskbar, choose "Custom," and select VersaMail. Click on "Change" and set it up.

I tried that, but everytime I hotsync I get a message that tells me none of the versamail accounts are setup to hotsync, but I went through the steps that it gives. What am I missing? Also, I assume you meant POP acct, right? That is what I have it set on.

Sorry - yes, I meant POP account. Have you tried making it a "Sync only" account?

Yes, I am pretty sure I have it a sync only account. I can send email, but it won't put mail from my inbox on my TT. I know I have two new messages, but when I hotsynced this is the log info:
VERSAMAIL INFO -- Received 0 messages from host, syncing for 1 days:
    0 Rejected by filters.
0 Rejected by global configuration days to sync.
0 Already existed on the device.
0 are new and will be added.
VERSAMAIL INFO -- 1 messages sent from the outbox.

It says 0 are new, but that isn't right. What do I have set up wrong? Any ideas? Thanks.

what have you got set up in your

    PC Hotsynch Icon -->Custom --> Versamail --> Change -->
Configure acccounts --> ( Middle Tab -mail settings) -->
    Connection information -- Mail Client.

Do you have 'Check this box to synchronise this account when you perform a HotSynch Operation' ?

Okay, I did what someone suggested in the other post to get a more detailed hotsync log and here is what I got:
    * Beginning To Sync Accounts *
    | ***** Begin synchronization specific to active account 'XXXXX XXXXx ' , 0. *****
    | Account is deleted: No
    | Account is active : Yes
    | Account connection type is Sync Only
    | Account protocol is SMAPI
    | INI Settings:
    Generate Security Key: No
    Client: 3
    Account Name: XXXXXXX XXXXX
    Message Host: Microsoft Outlook Express
    Profile:
    User Account:
    | Device Preferences:
    Supports Attachments: Yes
    Get Recent Only: Yes
    Use Signature: No
    Max Message Size: 51200
    Incoming Mail Server: pop.charter.net
    Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.charter.net
    User Name: XXXXXXX XXXXX
    XXXXXXX XXXXX
    Filter Count: 0
    | Account has 0 disconnected actions associated with it
    | Account has 1 device messages associated with it
    | Account has 5 categories associated with it:
    Inbox
    Outbox
    Drafts
    Sent
    Trash
    | * Beginning Host Connection *
    | SMAPI succesfully logged on for this account
    | * Beginning To Get Host Messages *
    | SMAPI: Getting all messages starting.
    | SMAPI: Getting all messages finishing.
    | Received 0 messages from host, syncing for 0 days:
    0 Rejected by filters.
0 Rejected by global configuration days to sync.
0 Already existed on the device.
0 Are new and will be added.
    | * Beginning To Perform Disconnected Actions *
    | * Beginning Send Messages *
    | 0 messages sent from the outbox.
    | * Beginning To Sync Messages *
    | Deleted 0 messages from the Inbox on the device because there was no match for it on the host, rejected 0 messages due to filters, and added 0 new messages to the device.
    | ***** Finish synchronization specific to active account 'XXXXXXX XXXXX ', 0. *****
    | -* VersaMail Debug Filter Finished Reporting *-
    OK VersaMail

Does that tell anyone anything? This is getting extremely frustrating. I read all of the messages in the link to the other post, but so far nothing fixes it. Thanks for all of your assistance. It is really appreciated.

ofiaich..I do have the "check this box to synchronize" box checked. Mail Client = Microsoft Outlook Express
    0 days = to synchronize
    50kb= maximum message
    synchronize unread messages only =checked
    synchronize inbox=checked
    synchronize outbox=checked

I had no idea this was going to be such a hassle.
