Unhappy VersaMail & MS Exchange Server

I've been looking for a few weeks on the web on how to get my new TT using VersaMail 2.0 to sync w/ my corporate MS Exchange Server but I can't get my mail on my TT.

When I connect via my PC (Outlook 2002, XP) from home via the USB cradle, I make sure that I'm on my corporate VPN network.

All the info provided anywhere & in the handbook is asking for either the IMAP or POP protocol w/ the outgoing & incoming server info. Even if I configure from the handheld side.

But when I'm in Outlook, the only information (Tools, ->Email Accounts...) I get is the name of my Exchange server, and no info on the SMTP server and such.

I feel like I'm neglecting something simple since I haven't seen anything about this...what am I missing?

Different but related q. if I'm syncing via the cradle, do I need to have Outlook open, and if I do, do I need to be Online? (Most of the time I'm Offline and just "Send/Receive" every so often)

    any help is much appreciated!!!

Do you want to sync with Outlook on the PC or directly with the Exchange server?

I set mine up the other day to sync with my company's exchange server. Under options I made sure I had the IMAP protocol selected, then under incoming mail server, I entered in the name of the exchange server. My company actually has a STMP server, so I have that entered, yours probably does too, you just need to ask what it is.

Also, you do not need outlook open if you do it this way.

Hope that helped in some small way.

    Default Thanks

I just wanted to sync to my PC, and I figured it out...I don't quite remember what I did now though..

I think one of the posts had mentioned about changing the "days to sync" to 0. also I edited the outlook acct & changed it to pop but made sure to sync only and it worked...

But as far as if i wanted to access the exchange server directly, which I might still want to do...

So I guess from what y'all posted, I'd need to know what my smtp server name was, which is what I thought...I thought I was missing some info...
