My first impression notes the following

    1. It mentions that existing devices (Tung T) may not be upgradeable

    2. There is no mention of the sound fix bug. It WAS a hoax

    1. PalmSource is functionally separate from Palm Solutions Group, Sony, and any other hardware maker. They can't speak for them. The US OS ROM image according to the simulator is 1.5MB. There's no reason to assume the T|T is incapable of handling this. PalmSource just can't say when or how Palm Solutions Group will handle the upgrade.

    2. The Audio bug is not a problem in the OS. It's an issue with Palm Solutions Group's implementation if the alleged sound fix is real.

Looks to me like there are two mentions of improved sound quality:

Problem fixed: Noise is heard (for Unsampled Data) if a blank sound is inserted on one channel while the opposite channel has sound.

    Other New Features and Modifications...

"6) Added extended sound stream APIs that are built on top of the existing sound stream architecture. A developer can specify a format type when creating a stream and then feed uncompressed data into that stream, provided the device has the proper codec. Palm OS contains only the raw PCM codec; licensees can add others, such as MP3 or Vorbis.

AND the fact that people at CES heard the updated TT's and said it sounded great.

Jumping to conclusions can make you dizzy...

PalmSource is not responsible for the hardware/firmware implementation in the TT. They don't have anything to fix there. Palm SG is the responsible party and has already aknowledged it and a fix/patch axists (although not yet available to users). See other threads here for the details.

I also note that one of the fixes is that Palm OS 5.2 will fix the problem of:

"Formatting some 128MB and larger SD cards may freeze the device"

I wonder if this will help with the problem many of us have had with SanDisk 128 or 256 sd cards?

Actually, it doesn't mention that at all. In fact, it's not even implied. The actual quote is:
Finally, as always, we at PalmSource, Inc. cannot comment on when these new versions will appear on new devices or whether upgrades to existing devices will be available. Please visit our licensee's developer and/or product pages for information pertaining to their devices.
In other words, "We can't speak for our customers as to how they're going to use this upgrade."

Default Graffitti 2 hard graffitti area compatible?

I'm just guessing, but I've been doddling around in the Simulator for OS 5.2, and it has a hard graffitti area, and it still uses the same layout of the graffitti area...

Yes, and AAMOF, on screen writing is not enabled in the default configuration. It will be up to each individual hardware maker to implement their own configuration/combination of on screen writing/hard graffiti/soft graffiti/keyboard/whatever.
