Card Export vs. card reader devices
Hi
Thanks to someone in this forum I found out about Card Export and I think it is great, but I don't have a card reader device to compare to. So, I was wondering if anyone of you have already made tests to compare them in terms of speed, limitations, prices, etc. This will really help me to decide whether to buy card export (almost $20) or a card reader (more than $20).
Thanks in advance
Hugo

You can get a generic card reader (6 in 1) for about the same price and it is much faster, I have both (use card export for files not too big so I don't have to remove the card from mt TT, but for bigger files like 50MB kinoma movies .... the card reader!)

I must agree. Software solutions only go so far -- transferring large files, or backing up an SD card through an app like CardExport is painfully slow. I can transfer all the contents of a full 64MB SD card to or from the card in under 2 minutes with a hardware card reader.

Wow, when you said 6 in 1, are you talking about those multiple card readers (SD cards, memory sticks, flash cards, etc), all in one?. I found a couple like that, but there were over $50. I don't remember the brand, but please tell me which one do you have for about the same price as Card export? You can get a generic card reader (6 in 1) for about the same price and it is much faster, I have both (use card export for files not too big so I don't have to remove the card from mt TT, but for bigger files like 50MB kinoma movies .... the card reader!)
Thanks again,

If you don't need to read the other formats, an SD/MMC only reader will probably run you under $30.

Mine is a Winward (yes, it reads all you mentioned) and I bought it here online (SPECIAL PRICE) in Quebec for just 39$ CAN (around 25$ US). Now, it is back to 51$ CAN (33$ US).
Here is where click here
