How Does One Perform Initial Installation of T5 S/W on an Intel-based Apple MacBook Pro?
Hello People,
My old T5 died suddenly. I managed to secure an open box T5 from Amazon, and I tried to install on my new Apple MacBook Pro. The Palm software did not complete the install apparently due to the lack of a PowerPC processor. Now my new T5 cannot even read my 2GB SD card.
Is there a work-around for installations using Intel processors on Apple computers?
Most respectfully yours,

I'm not an expert; but I don't think the issue is the PowerPC chip; but what version of Mac OS you're using. At some point (I think it might have been Snow Leopard), you could no longer use the Palm Desktop or syncing. You probably need to run Parallels or VMWare Fusion and run a form of Windows XP or something to use your Palm with your laptop. I'm sure others will chime in with better specifics.

I am running OS X Lion---not Snow Leopard. I just bought this MacBook Pro less than two months ago, and it's the most modern version.
I saw something of the issues others were having with Snow Leopard, and I wondered whether the same issues carried over to Lion.
If necessary, I can dig my old Windows Vista PC out of storage, but I really like using the Apple laptop and would prefer to use that since I normally use the laptop and PDA on the go.Last edited by jap731; 04-03-2012 at 05:32 PM.

Lion definitely will not work without an emulator to run the Palm software (or other workaround).

Check out Missing Sync for Mac. I've used this to sync a number of Palm devices in the past. Works pretty well. Don't bother with the old Palm software.
Here's a link: Mac and PC Sync Software for Android phones, BlackBerry, iPhone, WinMo, HTC Touch, Symbian OS - Mark/Space
