    Post Tungsten T3 Data loss

I have a Tungsten 3 for many years but have not been synchronising / saving the data of late. When I switched on the device recently all my years of contact information disappeared. I tried a soft reset but this did not work. The device appears to be perfect otherwise. I would appreciate if anyone can advise on how to retrieve the data or is it a lost cause?

No doubt the T3 lost power and was factory reset. Your only hope would be:

    1) You had a backup, using a backup program that saved to your SD card or

    2) if the data is still in Palm Desktop (or Outlook, if you used that), in which case you can hotsync to get your data back. Make sure you set the conduits to do a one time desktop overwrites handheld hot sync.

    Hello mcounihan, Welcome to Brighthand

I am sorry to say but there is no hope unless you have/had a decent backup solution in place as Hook mentioned. Since you indicated you did not sync anymore recently, you may loose some data when syncing again (it wasn't on your desktop to start with but that's all you got now).
Make sure to set your conduits in the correct direction or you will loose everything. A backup of your palmdesktop folder would not be too much at this point in time.

Another factor to consider is that if you've attempted Hotsync more than once since discovering the data missing, you may have overwritten the data in the Backup folder and replaced it with empty files. Desktop may empty out if system conduit was set to Synchronize for those times.
Experience is what you get when you thought you were getting something else.
