Question LJP having issues on a Tungsten T

I have a Tungsten T, and LJP simply won't work on it. Every time I try to run a ROM, it resets. I've tried it with MoreHeapHack, but to no effect. Fargo Heap Resizer doesn't work either, even though I should have enough memory to run some of the less powerful systems. Is UDMH absolutely necessary? If not, what can I do?

    Hello Sum1, welcome to Brighthand!

The Tungsten T simply does not have the resources needed to run an emulator. Emulators mostly require dynamic memory. This is a chunk of RAM that programs use to execute their code. The T1 only has 800KB (0.8MB) of heap. An emulator requires several MB of heap to work. Even with FHR you will boost heap to just 1.8MB maximum, and this will still not be enough.

In this case UDMH seems absolutely necessary. UDMH boosts dynamic heap by allocating some of the free RAM to the heap. For example, you can set UDMH to use up to 5MB of RAM, then your heap will appear to be 6.8MB total (assuming you also use FHR). Although this may be enough for some emulators, the problem with this scheme is that the T1 only has 14MB total RAM available to the user. You need to have several free MB for UDMH to be any good.

Consider also that the T1's CPU runs at only 144MHz, which may also be too slow for the emulator.

If you really need to run intensive programs, maybe you should consider getting a more powerful palm device.

I don't really NEED to run intensive programs, but I thought it would be cool. So will deleting all my Internal junk help? Will MHH work as well as UDHM, or will it work at all?

If there's no way around this, I'll understand, but thanks anyway for the help!
