Angry My Tungsten T3 battery will not last an hour!!

I have a Tungsten T3 which has been giving me EXCELLENT service for about 3 years now. It has ALL the features I want in a PDA. However, I have noticed that even after being fully charged, I cannot use it for even one (1) hour doing basic (calendar, memo, tasks) things. I do not dare look at photos or dare me to listen to the MP3 player!! The battery runs out of juice !! Any ideas on how I can fix this - I do not want to have to buy a new PDA when this one has all I need continues to work well otherwise.

    Thanks in advance.

Replacement batteries are available and a few threads discussing, a search here will easily reveal, but keey search to the T forum.

Also, have you attempted a SOFT Reset while positioned in the cradle charging.
Doing so will recalibrate the battery charge level and the palm logic for correct battery level display.

Simply, place unit in the cradle, observe the charge indicator, then reset the device while in place, then leave it to charge a full cycle, at least 3.5 hours.

This may correct the rapid indication it is draining prematurely. If no, then battery has is fading quickly, and repalcement is only solution.

Follow the FAQ link in my signature, and look for PDA repair link. See who offers the best rate for T3 batteries.

    Hi,
I currently use one from Brando's. Still testing it though - will post results to TamsPalm as I proceed.

So far, all I can tell you is that installing it went smooth and was a rather easy process...

Thread moved to Palm Tungsten T series forum.

Believe battery needs replacing as well.

I've been away from the forum awhile, but I have returned do to this very problem!

I too will try the suggestions in the above posts to see if that helps at all.

However, is there a way to see what processes are running on my T3 to see if something is tying it up in the background?

not sure if PalmInterals will help or not; it is free, tho, and has been tested on T3

A soft reset should stop any processes that you may have enabled to work in the background, or perform a WARM Reset and work the unit with only the basic apps, and observe the performance.

Thanks guys for all the responses !! I got a replacement battery, put it in and although I am still evaluating it seems to be doing a LOT better than the old battery. By the way, I did try a soft reset while still in the cradle - the battery (old one) still did not last anytime.
    Again, thanks for the help.
