Sorry, Josser. It's likely my bot filter plugin Bad Behavior has blocked you. Try and see if using a different browser like Firefox, Opera will work. If not, if you can provide me with your ip address, I can add you to the whitelist. Unfortunately, since there's way too many attempts to spam and use up bandwidth on my site to spam and comment, I am forced to use Bad Behavior. Even with Bad Behavior, there's still lots of spam going through.

one thing, though. you missed a screen that is on the treo 650. you skipped the "get time from mobile network" screen. this puts the location at the bottom of the "get time from network" screen. otherwise your directions are flawless.

when this unexpected screen showed up, i ended up running world time and then going back to prefs over and over again, then watching your video again and finally realized you had left out a screen.
Oops! Sorry! I made the mistake of pointing to the same Flash file for both. I can't find the original file for the Treo so I created it again today and the Flash will correctly reflect the screens for the Treo 650. So the page has been updated with the correct flash simulations.

Thanks for pointing that out, r0k!

Lightbulb Palm has finally posted an update

It's not perfect - check your cities as Hawaii had both the start and end dates set to November.

    @r0k
Thanks for posting the steps out. I too can't get the flash to work. I suspect it has something to do with the automatic update that Macromedia had me install, which I did. All I know now is I used to be able to get flash content on Maceyr's site, but now over 5 flash objects I've tried to play now read as a URL of javavoid(0). If i hav time, I'll rollback w/System Restore to see if that was the culprit.

However, I'm still having problems with DST. My issue is I waited till AFTER the new DST change in the US to implement the fix. Since it's after the 2nd of March, I tried setting my time to just before the 3rd of March (both 11p59 and 1a59) and setting DST to start at 3/18. Nothing registers. I tried a 3rd method which I for some reason worked, but when I check my CityTime app, it states that ALL time zones got shifted an hour when really the US should be the only zone that gets +1 hour in time. For some reason CityTime refuses to save the changes for the new DST in the US. I was able to create a new New York entry that does save, but anyone else also getting this problem?

As far as the threshold supposed to be another time like 3/11 or 3/18 at 12a59?

Apparently, Hawaii doesn't observe DST. As for the javavoid error, you may want to just click on the link instead of right clicking and opening in a new tab or window. The reason why it was done that way is that if I gave out the url of the flash file, the Flash image and demo will be WAY too big to view. The javascript window pop up has the specified size that will show the correct size of the Palm screen.

The url for the Flash demo for a Zire 71 and similar devices pre-NVFS:

    http://photobucket.com/albums/c232/m.../changedst.swf

and the url for the flash for Treo 650 (Argh! Netfirms somehow reverted back to an older archive!)

    http://photobucket.com/albums/c232/m...hange-dst2.swf

Again, your entire browser window will be filled up with the Flash demo so you are looking at a magnified image.

    ^^

On a similar note, neither does Arizona. Was surprised to hear a whiles back that the contiguous US has actually has 5 time zones: EST, CST, Arizona time, MST, and PST

Still not working. I did try LC-ing it, but nothing happened. I've uploaded a screenshot of the attempt. Note that the mouse cursor is over the flash file, but the status bar at the bottom left says the URL is a javavoid. The links u provided on this forum did work tho, so thanks for that.

Actually, until this year, neither did Indiana (so it was 6 time zones: "Indiana-East" being the other). Our state legislature seems to have no function other than to debate the merits of DST every year. Last session, they actually managed to change the law, so that we now observe DST.

Of course, it's now a complete mess. There are situations on the extreme edges of the state (east and west) where businesses on one side of the street operate on a different time zone than county offices on the other side of the street.

(Businesses on the west side of the state like to be in sync with Chicago; businesses on the east like to be with Indianapolis and Cincinnati.)

Nothing like government involvement to really confuse things!
