combind car charger and fm transmitter to work with TE?

G'day Im new here and Im from australia
but Ive had myTE for ages and love it.
now with the bigger sized memory cards, like the 1gig comming out and getting cheaper all the time, I listen to my music on the TE now,
My question is,
Is it possible to buy a car chager for the TE
with a buitl in fm transmitter and can charge the te at the same time? so im not draining the battery?

the other thing i find too with the power is it takes a bit of nudging to get the power cable to actually come on and charge , is this normal or could it be the power charger? ive had this of and on fora while now..

I had the same problem after 4 months. In my case, it is the AC charger that was bad. It was putting out higher voltage (5.62V instead of 5V) and it burned out the battery. I was able to get a replacement on ebay for $20. It is very easy to replace. I wrote a short guide which can be found here:

Becareful and check the AC charger out before using it again. It may damage your replacement battery. You can get a replacement charger or just use the USB to charge the Palm.

Unfortunately, I doubt you are going to find the device you are looking for. You can find a lot of transmitters that are either AAA battery powered or plug into the cigarette lighter for their power. They plug into the headphone jack of your E.

As far as a charger for the E, check out boxwave.com. They probably have something that would work.

Maybe somebody will come along with something more definitive.

Can't help you with the FM Transmitter but maybe with the car charger. I found an old car charger for my wife's old mobile phone (Kyocera) that not only had the correct size plug but put out similar voltages to the palm charger. On long trips I plug my TE straight into the radio and use the car charger to maintain the battery. As a fellow Aussie you would appreciate the lack of good radio stations away from the capital cities. If I'm going on a long trip (>3 hours) I take 2 cards both 1Gb so I don't runout of music that I like.
