What's a cheep (or even better, FREE) WIFI service?
T-Mobile seems to be the dominant provider in the Philadelphia area, which is probably why they're so damned expensive, sheesh
! There's like a dozen Starbucks coffee stores near my job area-including one RIGHT across the street-and they only deal with T-Mobile. Which would be fine if T-Mobile wasn't trying to rip people off
! $39.99 a month?! a $29.99 a month yearly plan?! a daily 6-dollars-for-60-MINUTES-then-10-cents-per-extra-minute plan?!
Since I'm already a Verizon Online customer, I would have gotten WiFi FREE of charge-if I lived in NY
. Since I live in Philly where there are no Verizon hotspots yet...I'm already paying like $37 a month for Verizon DSL, and I already have internet (kinda) for my TE with Advantgo. So the most I'm willing to pay is $19.99 a month MAXIMUM. Anybody know a cheeper provider, because I don't want to get ripped off by T-Mobile, when I get my Enfora Portfolio.

All Panera Bread stores offer free wifi, and this site shows a number of free wifi hotspots in Philadelphia. Try putting free wifi hotspots into Google, and you can spend lots of time looking at locations.

Thanks, I didn't know Mean Bean did Wifi, I walk by there all the time! There's some other great spots too. Now it's an issue of how far away can I be from the hotspot before the signal fades...because all of them are at least 3 blocks away from where I want to connect. T-Mobile says 300 feet, which doesn't sound like much.

300 feet may be optimistic, depending on what may be between you and the AP.

Aw...this sounds like I'm gonna have to litteraly be sitting inside the store for this thing to work...BTW get ready for a hidden "surprise" when you order the Enfora Portfolio. It's $149 PLUS the UPS charges of either $7, $22, or $50, depending on how fast you want UPS to move. So at least $156 is coming out of your credit card. Don't want you to feel like you were blindsided by a mack truck when you go to order it
