Default Tungsten E and Palm Bluetooth SD Card (for internet access)

    Hi,

I was wondering if the Palm Bluetooth SD Card works with the Tungsten E?

I have google'd for the answer but I find conflicting results.

Some sites say that it works fine while other sites say that the Palm
Bluetooth SD Card only works with PalmOS 4.x and so would not work with the
Tungsten E because it runs PalmOS 5.x

If it is possible to get Bluetooth (whatever the way) on the Tungsten E
however would I surf the internet using Bluetooth? I had a Sony Cli? a few
months back (I returned it because I didn't like the flip cover) and I was
able to surf using the NetFront browser and the built in Bluetooth (was a
TG-50) with both my mobile phone (at the time it was a SonyEricsson T610)
and using ICS on my PC with a Bluetooth dongle on the PC.

Is it possible to just buy the NetFront browser (or another browser) and get
    online in the same way?

Thanks to all who reply, your input is appreciated

    Hello deadmonkey.

As far as I know, the Palm Bluetooth card only works in Palm OS 4.x devices. I don't know of any technical reason why Palm hasn't released OS 5 drivers for the card. I suspect the real reason there are no Palm OS 5 drivers is because the card didn't sell too well. (That is only my opinion. I don't have any sales figures on the Bluetooth card.)

Without compatible drivers for OS 5, I can't see how the card will with the Tungsten E.

    thanks for your reply AlanG.

without Bluetooth I do not think i will buy the T|E

I would get the T|3 but I don't think it is worth the extra ?150

What are the opinions of others?

I think Palm should get their act together and release the drivers, or they will continue lose palm bluetooth card sales. I, personally, am probably going to return my T|E and get a T|T2.
