Default Should my Tungsten E handheld utilize desktop version 4.1.4E?

I was checking the Palm website to see if my OS needs to be updated. I found that I could be running 4.1.4E and am currently running 4.1.2. Everything's working well now. Is it worth upgrading or do I run the risk of screwing things up? And what are extended fields?

Also, my wife's T/E is synched through my computer to hers via a home network. I assume that if one should be upgraded, I should do it for both before trying a hotsynch.

    Thanks,

    Bob

If not having trouble then no big advantage for the TE as I recall.

Besides, desktop version 4.1.4E is not the version you would want to employ. This version includes the palm Outlook conduits and will alter any Outlook setup you may have, and possibily othe thrid party conduits.

The version that is best applied is version 4.1.4 (no E), this was the provided replacement version for your model. This can be done as an overlay and should have no impact if your system is set correctly. I have applied on two laptop installs, upgrading from the bundle version 4.0.1 to 4.1.4.

You can access v4.1.4 via this previous versions link.

As always, it is recommended to make a copy of the \palm\[truncated user name] folder beyond the folder structure of \palm.

    PS: repaired thread title!
