Default Will Motorola RAZR V3 Work with Tungsten E2

I am looking into buying a new cellphone to take advantage of the web browsing and e-mail checking capabilities of my Palm Tungsten E2.

I am getting conflicting information on if the Motorola RAZR V3 cellphone will correctly enable my Palm to do those things. It is bluetooth enabled, and my understanding is says under its features that it had "wireless internet access."

Yet at another part of their site it did not list it as being able to connect to a PDA.

Does anyone out there have direct experience with these two devices and know for a fact that they play nice with each other?

The Razr works fine with the E2.

better check with your carrier on the charges. I used to work for AT&T and they will really getcha if you don't have the proper data plan or pay by KB (and use too much), average is about $0.03KB transferred.

Yes, I have this setup currently for wireless e-mail and internet use. My carrier is Cingular, and I have the Unlimited MEdiaNET for $20 a month. ROCstar has a very valid point about unchecked data usage, I once racked up nearly $50 one month not realizing that data time != talk time (I foolishly believed data was billed by time and came out of your monthly minutes).

Anyways, you can't use the default profile for "Cingular WAP GPRS" to connect to the web on your T|E2 to the best of my knowledge and experience. You will need to reconfigure a few settings if you have Cingular (I don't know about T-Mobile).

Here are the setup instructions (Note that V551 = RAZR in that they both use the same phone OS software):
    (copied from
    http://www.howardforums.com/archive/topic/528247-1.html)
    1) In prefs setup a new connection -
    a) Name: LAN Motorola Phone
    b) Connect to: Local Network
    c) Via: Bluetooth
    d) Device: Motorola Phone (you will 'tap to find' your phone here)
    e) Click 'Details....' and set speed to 115,200 and flow control to automatic.

    2) In prefs click Network - New
    a) Give it a name such as 'cingular GPRS'
    b) Username:WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
    c) Password: CINGULAR1
    d) Connection: LAN Motorola Phone
    Under 'Details':

    Connection type :PPP
    Idle timeout: 3 Minutes
    Query DNS is checked
    IP Address is checked automatic

Then click script - here is where it all gets done:

    Send: AT&FX1E0V1
    Send CR:
    Send CR:
    Send: ATDT*99***1#
    Send CR:
    Wait For: CONNECT
    End:

(Note - *99***1# may need to be replaced with *99# or *99***2#', etc)

Now you should be able to click connect in network or select the correct connection under bluetooth and connect. If you have problems, shut off the V551 and the power it back on and try again. Should work.

    Hope this helps

The Verizon model V3c cannot be used to connect to the internet on your Palm. It can only sync your address books and bluetooth connect to headsets, stuff like that. Check this out. (pdf file)
