Tungsten C2 --- wild speculation
I thought I would start a thread speculating on what a Tungsten C2 might look like. Here are my guesses:
1- plastic case (not metal)
2- Bluetooth added
3- 802.11b wireless (no g)
4- NVFS like the T5 and Treo 650
5- 320x480 screen
6- thumbboard input (no on-screen graffitti input)
7- Palm OS 5.4 (no Cobalt)
8- price: $450
Comments: I would have to say that these improvements would be enough to make me consider an upgrade from Tungsten C, T3, or T5. However, it would really rock if the items I put in parentheses were included.

Is there a reason on why you think Palm is making a C2? Or is even the existance of a C2 wild speculation as well?
If there aren't any good rumor sources for a C2 even to exist, then I don't see the reason on getting into specifics.
Personally I think Palm should make all of their new handhelds come with Wifi/Bluetooth, except for their 'E' line which can be an add-on option. Hopefully Palmone has seen the light on why the PPC is grabbing a large number of their previous customers.

I don't think there will ever be a C2. As much as we all love our T|C's, it was never a big seller. The successor to the T|C will likely be a Treo model with built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
I just hope that PalmOne supports the T|C with software upgrades over the next year or two.Palm IIIx > Palm m505 > Palm Tungsten E > Palm Tungsten C > Palm T|X > Palm Treo 680 > BlackBerry Bold 9000 (OS 5.0.0.822)
What took so long?

Why would anyone think they would support upgrades? I looked at a Zire 72 and their software looks more attractive than the T/C. There is an upgrade on the desktop version of software but no change on my Palm software itself. The T/C has others beat on speed and wifi, but no updates on the software that is available on other models that are lower cost.

It's too bad that PalmOne is not proactive when it comes to software upgrades for the T|C. Based on Speedy 4.1, the T|C is still the FASTEST PalmOne PDA and routinley benchmarks at over 400 MHz on my unit.
Based on the Speedy 4.1 database, the T|3 makes it to 380MHz in portrait mode and only 207 in landscape mode. The T|5 makes it to 380 in portrait mode and 283 in landscape mode. By far, the T|C is the FASTEST Palm PDA ever built, regardless of what the processor specs are.
It's a crying shame we can't load up the T|C with the best OS that PalmSource has to offer.... I guess PalmOS 5.4 at this time and 6.x sometime in the near future. Isn't that what flash ROM's are all about?Palm IIIx > Palm m505 > Palm Tungsten E > Palm Tungsten C > Palm T|X > Palm Treo 680 > BlackBerry Bold 9000 (OS 5.0.0.822)

Yea that is what FlashROM is all about, but there really isn't anything between OS 5.2 and OS 5.4 that we as T|C users can take advantage of.
With all of the lackluster product that Palm has done since the T|C I'm probably going to get a Zodiac II and just go totally insane installing cool stuff on it.
OR hopefully find a Sony UX50 for cheap one of these days...

I would be happy with 5.2.1 and the NEW PIM's that are found on the E, T3 and T5... I think 5.2.8 would be a good upgrade....
There are loyal PalmOne customers who might even pay to have the new PIM's... anyone at PalmOne listening???Palm IIIx > Palm m505 > Palm Tungsten E > Palm Tungsten C > Palm T|X > Palm Treo 680 > BlackBerry Bold 9000 (OS 5.0.0.822)

I replaced my PIM with Datebk5 a long time ago. There's nothing in the newer PalmOne-specific data structures that appeals to me.

The TC was not a big seller, it was a marketing dissappointment, did not sell nearly as many as expected.
I dought Palmone will make a TC2, their focus is with low end PDA's and high end Treo's.

The TC was a disappointment for them because people are finding *Palm* a disappointment. Too many of their solutions (products) are half-assed.
I've seen the treo 600 and it's "thumb board". They can keep it. And if the 650 is the same size - again - they can keep it.Devices: Palm III; Visors - Deluxe, Platinum, Edge; HE330 (OS 3.5); Palm m515 (OS 4.1); and currently using a T|C
