Question Cannot see certain access points

I've found 2 access points which are causing me trouble:
    ---

    1. My own Zyair AP works fine although Netchaser and Wifi setup can't "see" it. I can connect to it though - because I know it's there.

The AP is setup to broadcast its SSID.

    2. At my friends place My TC can't see nor connect to his Linksys AP. I have no problems with my laptop.

    ---

Any ideas as to why this happens? WEP keys are entered correctly. I have also deleted the appropriate wifi db files - to no avail.

    Much obliged.

There's an option on the access points that controls whether they broadcast their SSID, or not. I suspect in both cases the broadcast option is off.

TMobile seems to have stopped broadcasting the SSID in starbucks, for example (has anyone else noticed this?).

You might try setting up a network called "ANY" (without the quotes).

    Thanks for your reply.

However, my AP is broadcasting its SSID - I've checked...

    Any other ideas?

I had the same problem with my US Robotics 2450 AP.
I decided to buy another one, D-Link DWL-900AP+ and everything works fine now!

My AP worked just fine for a while - and in a way it still does. It just doesn't seem to identify itself for my TC anymore!

My laptop sees the SSID fine...

I really don't feel like doing a hard reset right now so I'll go through the "Netchaser cleanup procedure" again. Can you confirm that the following files need to be deleted to make Netchaser/wifi setup forget everything:

    WiFiDB
    WiFiProfile
    NetworkDB
    WiFiNetworkDB-Wpnl

Looking through the file list I also found:

    Network_ptBR
    Net Prefs

    - should they be deleted too?

    Any other tips?

    Thanks again for your help.

just got my T|C yesterday and have run into some wifi issues too.

imagine my disappointment to find out that the T|C's wifi ability to handle 128bit WEP keys only works if you have it set to key index 1

anyone else see this problem with their AP? I'm using a cisco 340
