Default Screen bottom problem - hardware or software problem?

Like, it seems, a few people, I cannot use the bottom of the screen.

It used to be small, but now it is over 1/4" and I cannot use some of my programs.

I tried a simple experiment: when I reset the digitizer, and when asked to calibrate the lower right part of the screen, I pressed about 1/4" above the lower right setting centre.

Now I have access to the whole screen, but it is kind of useless since everything is offset by 1/4".

But this let me to believe that it is a software problem, not a hardware one.

    Anyone tried the same before?

    Interesting question.

Also, now that I've got a fully functional screen, I'm wondering if and how long it will stay fully functional. I seem to recall that my original TC had a fully functional screen at first.

Is this a problem that develops or gets worse? Maybe it results from some kind of damage to the unit (like dropping it)?
