Welcome to Brighthand, francistown2005. I'm not sure I can help. I had a similar problem with my Palm TX. I resolved it by changing the encryption on my router from WPA2 to WPA.

Sorry so late on this. The encryption choices for the Palm T|C is WEP or none.

It always seems like Netgears have the issues. F-town, there're a million reasons why you may have this issue. The router settings, your device, whether the router uses b, g, n or mixed WiFi, etc. Search BH, there are a lot of threads on it.

To start off, I'd say delete your profile on the device and re-enter it. That sometimes seems to work. Also double check your router: make sure the encryption matches WEP, which mode it's in (b/g/n or mixed, as mixed often won't work), and if only certain device ID's are allowed to connect (MAC filtering).

The Tungsten C was an early attempt to use wifi. Thus the inability to hook up to wifi. Early Palms could hook up with the internet using really slow connections via modems but today's routers very rarely can hook up with the early wifi systems.

The questioner should study up on wpa, wep and b Wifi.

Most importantly, I dont think the old palm web browser (blazer?) works any more as i think it used a (now defunct) proxy server.

Blazer still works perfectly fine with my TXs.

BTW, you're dragging up threads that have been dormant for 7 months or more. Not generally a good idea if you don't have new & improved info to add.
Experience is what you get when you thought you were getting something else.

I think the fact the web browser on the OP's device might not be working is pretty relevant information.

Maybe it works on your TX, and newer devices, but older versions dont.

Blazer 2 only worked for a few years on my Treo 300 after i started using it, went down about the same time as Palm.net - hasnt worked now for well over 6 years.

The OP's tungsten C is about the same age as my treo, so stands to reason it has the (non functional) blazer.

    So there!

The Treo 300 was a Palm OS 3 device made by HandSpring before Palm acquired them, I believe. The TC is a Palm OS 5 device and Blazer does not use a proxy on any of the OS 5 devices. Also, the TC doesn't have cellular. There wasn't any connection between Blazer and Palm.net at that point (Didn't know there ever was, but I don't have any experience with Palm.net). I'm not even sure what was called Blazer on OS 5 was the same program as the earlier Blazer.

The Tungsten|C didn't run Blazer -- it ran Web Pro. T|C owners wanted it to run Blazer, since Palm pretty much abandoned Web Pro when it discontinued the T|C, so all the development was in Blazer with the Treo line that continued long after the T|C was put to bed. There were two different versions of Web Pro -- the one that came on the T|C ROM and a much better/newer one that came on a difficult to obtain business upgrade CD. I still have my T|C and was able to get on the internet with it a few weeks ago (just for kicks) without issue. It doesn't require a proxy.
