    Unhappy Sync freezes

One day the HotSync got Stuck, cancelled the HotSync and cheked the appointments, the calendar in the Palm desktop was blank, still I have the appoint ments in the device but when I perform a HotSync it gets stuck at datebook 4-10, tried to change the HotSync to Handhelld overwrites desktop, installed the software "palmhotsyncsetup" to set the New PIM Database, tried DBScan, Dbfix it, Help!!!

Forgot to say, tried to delete the username on the device to sync with a new user and I'am unable to do it, I tried for nearl 10 times, Hardreset, I cannot think of it.

What does your Hotsync log say?

    How are the conduits set?

The sync froze, I cancelled it, so no HotSync log. The conduits are set to "Handheld Overwrited Desktop".

Please post the entire content of the HotSync log to diagnose over facts

    Checkout DbFixit from PimlicoSoftware.

Try 'Remove deleted records' first. It is a freeware feature and in most cases the culprit of the issue.

holvoetn, why does that happen, because deleted records are only kinda "unindexed" but not actually deleted?

By design deleted records should be indexed so they end up being at the end of the database (top or bottom, not sure about that).
But sometimes they are not moved and stay in the sequence wherever they were. And THAT makes PalmOS go berserk since it knows the number of valid records but it can not handle an unexpected deleted record.
It is one of the things that makes the age of this OS quite visible ...

Thanks, very enlightening. Hope we get the Palm OS II, or the Palm will meet the dodo.
