New Treo user questions
Hello all!
I recently purchased a refubished 755P (verizon) on Ebay. This is my 5th palm device (IIIe=>VI=>V=>Zire72=>Trep 755p). My family has always call my Palms my 'Toy'. I think it stopped being a toy to me a long time ago. It took me a while to decide to move to the Treo, but I was getting tired of carrying a cell phone and the Zire, and I was not confident to move to MW mobile or a Blackberry. The Centro keyboard was too small and I made my decision after verizon dropped the 755p - so I found one on ebay for a decent price. Still learning how it all works, but I had to send to back to the seller for replacement because of some keyboard issues. The replacement should arrive at the end of the week (back to the clamshell and Zire for a while). I see on these forums some hints that my problems could have connected with upgrading from a prevoius OS - can you point me in the right direction where I can read up on this? I want to minimize the hassles.
Also, How do you send a text message to more than one person at a time? I tried several steps and could not get the hang of it. Can I set up messaging 'groups'. I use the Desktop, not Outlook.
There will be more questions later, I am sure.
But for now, thanks

Re: New Treo user questions
scpalm, welcome to BrightHand!
About multiple SMS, try the following:
After selecting the first person your gonna SMS, hit return on the keyboard and it will allow you to add another person. BTW, selecting each recipient is done by recipient's registered name (in your Contacts), not by recipient's number. Feedback the result to see if it works in the 755p."Do or do not. Re: New Treo user questions
Thanks for the quick reply. I will try the SMS when I get my replacement. The links you used did not show - my html is set to off. How do I change that?

Re: New Treo user questions
Welcome to Brighthand, SCPalm.

I don't think SCPalm was asking about a ROM upgrade, I think he was askng about upgrading from an older Palm device. Use the instructions in THIS THREAD. It is instructions for the 680, but the procedure is the same for a 755p.Hook's Stories

LG Nexus 4: AT&T (Gophone), Android 4.4.2, stock and unrooted-- and probably staying that way.

Re: New Treo user questions
Welcome to Brighthand, scpalm.

Can you adjust the html setting in your device browser? BH Forum setting is OFF for users (see bottom of page under Posting Rules.)

Re: New Treo user questions
Thanks for all of the answers.
After a restart - the links responders noted are not 'hot' and accessible.
As for the reponse for upgrading the Palm desktop from a prevoius version - i already updated for my first Treo. Should I save my setups as you described, delete the destop program, reload and try again. The description was for a 680, no difference with the 755p?
Thanks again

Re: New Treo user questions
Not much, mostly user's interface differences. Palm 0S 5 running in both, and maybe (can't tell right out) maybe several differences in apps. The post pointed by Hook is of rather general service, practiced in a 680 as an example, but it works in many Palm OS 5 smartphones.
