Desktop will not recognize cradle

I cannot sync my 700p when it is in the cradle. The PC will not recognize it. It will sync fine with the cable, but once I connect the cable to the cradle (say that 10 times fast!), no sync is possible. BTW, it is a Palm branded cradle. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

Throw it away and get a new one. :-)

But seriously, I had a similar problem at one time and found that I was not securely seating the cable in the cradle. I wasn't pushing hard enough for fear of breaking something. If it was not secure it would not work.

BTW, after syncing a few times I found that it would loosen up again. Never figured out why but it happened.

Yeah. I don't know how the Treo cradle compares to the LD/T5 cradle, but I had to push pretty firmly to get it to seat completely.

Same problem here. Sometimes I even get an popup error message on the systray saying the USB device is not recognized.

If the cradle is new (the 700 has only been out for a few months) return it for a new one. If it isn't, buy a new cradle (and save the receipt). If the new one works, you know that the old one was defective. If the new one doesn't work, return it for a full refund and sync with the cable
