From Rest of the World (excl. US) : Unlocked GSM version of Treo 700p ?

Rest hundreds million in Asia & Europe are wondering : when Palm will release the Unlocked GSM version of Treo 700p ?

I believe once Palm release it, there'll be millions who will get in line to replace their outdated Treo 600 & Treo 650. There'll be more, once Palm can fulfill rest of the Asians wish list : Better Camera (2 MP autofocus with built-in flash light) & Wi-Fi.

But I guess as long as there'll be the current Treo 700p for GSM Unlocked, I'll replace my current Treo 600.

I am also waiting for it. This might be the one which may draw me over the line to go integrated ...

Forget about your dream list...just be happy if they get around to a GSM version in the next few months.

I didn't think Palm had a really big customer base outside of the US, that's cool if they do though.

I'm waiting for the GSM 700p as well. Hopefully soon since my moto phone is starting to bug out on me.

Palm executives have stated that they wanted to focus on markets outside of the US this year. That is encouraging for customers outside of the US. However, I haven't seen, read, or heard anything about when an unlocked GSM Treo 700p will be available or for how much.

I also would like to echo Brian's comments on the wish list items. Palm isn't likely to release a different version of the 700p with a higher resolution camera, a flash, and Wi-Fi support. At this point, I'd be really shocked it Palm added Wi-Fi to a Palm OS Treo.

I would like to add my voice to the GSM list of wishers. Those of us who live in areas where only small GSM providers rule, we would like to have a shot at the 700p as well. So Palm, if you're listening, don't for get about us. I'm quite certain sales would most certainly increase if the rest of the world is smiled upon. My gut feeling tells me though, that Sprint & Verizon required a certain amount of time in the spotlight before the rest of us get a chance to dance. For now, I'll keep riding my horse to the edge of town to use the pay phone. Next year, I hear we're getting a 4th channel on the TV.
