Lightbulb Upcoming New Treo Smartphone w/ Apple Computer

I need some help here from all you users who use your Treo 650 or others to Sync with your Apple and iCal and iSync.

Obviously everyone knows that Apple usually plays well in the sandbox with Palm. However, with Palm's announcement that their new Treo 700 will function off of Windows Smartphone technology, does anyone know how this will effect its ability to sync with Macs now? Has either Palm or Apple addressed this already?

My opinion is that the Treo 700w was designed for the corporate IT purchasing manager who does not want to stray from an all MS shop. Indications in the rumor mill are that there will be a new high end Palm OS Treo next year as well. Unless you want a MS computer, skip the 700w.

A Caris & Co analyst just published a research report with some details about what the future may hold for the Treo. Aparently Plam is going to come out with a Palm Os Treo in May with EV-Do, on Verizon. They are also supposedly going to come out with some lower priced Treos. As already posted, the new WM Treo does not likely have any bearing on the release of new Palm OS Treos.

However to completely answer your post, if Palm doesn't include Macintosh Sync capability, Mark/Space probably will update Missing Sync for PPC to cover it. I don't know how long that might take, but it seems like something they would definitely do.
