Treo's Bulkyness Worth it?
The treo 650 looks awesome and i want to purchase one. But, in looking at other smarthphones, it is a little bulky. Some of the other smartphones such as the "Sony Ericsson P910a" and "Audiovox SMT5600" are smaller that the Treo 650. THe audiovox phone is 3.7 oz opposed to the 650's 6.1 oz. These 2 other smartphones i mentioned are smaller and lighter...i guess that they would be too small for a good pda use, but, i really need the treo 650 to buy me before i buy it...what is so unique about this smartphone compared to some of the others on the market...? Thanks.

I don't actually have a Treo 650, but looking for the first time at the other two, the differentiators that stick out at me are:Originally posted by Rob621

- The SE has a flip-down keyboard that is probably not easily operated with one hand. Dimension/weight wise it's not that different from the Treo.
- The Audiovox is Windows based - and, IMHO, that OS is not as 'user friendly' as the PalmOS - and with the tweaks that are in the Treo, not as easily operated with one hand as the Treo.
- Treo has better screen resolution than either of the other phones
- The SE seems to have better battery life.
I think in the end it boils down to PalmOS vs. other operating systems. If you're a fan of that OS (as I am), then the Treo is for you; if not - it's a toss up between featuresets (screen, memory, expansion slots, size, weight, etc.)
Hope this helps.

I do have the T650, & yes it is bigger than most phones. It also looks like it would be bulky, but to be honest, it's not at all bad.
One pleasant note, this phone feels flatter than most IMO, so it doesn't feel as noticeable in my pants pocket... and that is w/ the Palm form-fitting case. It's a worthwhile trade-off. Plus being converged to just one device is priceless...
HTH!!!
