Default Outlook not indexing by Company first

When I import my contacts via Outlook 2003 (to Treo 650) they are not indexing by Company Name, then Last Name, then First Name as I have them on my PC. They are indexing Last Name, First Name only, so on my Treo it is almost worthless trying to look up because I cannot remember the individual who works for the Company, therefore I cannot look up the Company!!!

Can someone please tell me how to correct this.

    Much appreciated

Default Palm not indexing by Company Name

Does anyone know how I can index in my Treo by Company Name instead of Last Name from Outlook 2003?

Would I have to buy Keysuite for Outlook Synchronization by Chapura?

I'm having this same problem. I have several hundred companies in my Palm contacts. I just upgraded to the Treo 650, and my address book is all but useless. I have to use the global search function and it is very slow. The old Palm contacts looked up by company name just fine. Does anyone here know of a way to do that on the Treo 650? (I don't want to copy and paste all the company names into the "Last Name" fields. That would be silly.)

    Default Can do

OK, I call Palm One tech support in the Phillipines and now this person showed me how to index by Company first. Apparently Treo 600's could not do this and many of the tech suport people do not know this.

Open contacts and then push the menu button, go to Options then Preferences and List By: Company, Last Name presto!

    Well Bigtop,

That's a very nice try. I had that preference set already. All it does is list by company first. It does not allow you to search by company. So if you are looking at your whole list of contacts, the company name will show first. But as soon as you enter a letter in the search field, it removes all company names and shows only peoples' names.

This is a huge oversight. The company search works just fine on my Tungsten C. I wonder if there will be a software update. Or perhaps there's shareware solution. I'd like to try Contacts 5, but it doesn't work on the Treo 650 yet. Does anyone know of another option?

Default I'm ready to return my 650

I just got my Treo 650 yesterday and this indexing thing is driving me mad. I've got hundreds of contacts, and I can't search by company.

I'm ready to take this thing back. I'm really sick of it.

Does anyone know if there is a patch for this??

    Fluxcapacitor,

you are right! You cannot search by company name, even though it is indexed that way. How dumb is that.....

i tried the Keysuites product but it does not work with VoiceDial.

Does Palm correct issues like this or do we have to wait until the Treo 700 comes out and then get forced to buy that??
